The Sims 3 has only been out for a couple months now (it seems) and already they’ve released information about the first Expansion pack called “World Adventures.”

I dunno … I’ve still got a sorta “Love / Hate” relationship with Sims 3 … On one side - I love the game because it’s easier to create “Legacy” families since you can only control one family at a time. The rest of the town are NPC’s (non-playable characters) who follow their own storylines (automatically) and even age on their own. I love the cemetery and the ghosts within (you can talk, hang out or even play football with the ghosts!) - you can even tour the local graveyard’s mausoleum! I love the careers (Evilness!) and I love the gardening and collecting. On the flip side - I hate that you can only control one family (what happens if I want Harry Potter Sim to marry Ginny Weasley Sim?) and you can’t add anything to the town. So, I can’t create a nice club for my Buffy-Sims to visit!

But - I can’t complain too much since I literally found my copy of The Sims 3 at a thrift store for $4.00 - I’m so not even kidding! So, what about you? Addicted to Sims 3 yet? When the The Sims 3 went on sale in the midst of the Electronic Entertainment Expo, some worried it might be overshadowed by the event. They shouldn’t have. Buoyed by sterling critical praise, the game has sold over 1.4 million copies in its first week on the market, Electronic Arts announced.

Sims 3 includes several new features. Players can customize their characters’ personalities, choosing among traits, such as brave, artistic, absent-minded, and kleptomaniac. Furniture and clothing can be customized based on color and pattern. The game also sports a new dynamic, real-time neighborhood system where households are seamlessly integrated.

Okay, speaking of television … have I told you of my naughty fascination for just about all the boys in the Harry Potter movies? I mean, especially Daniel Radcliffe. But, to be perfectly honest I wouldn’t mind all three of the younger Weasley boys – like, you know … at the same time. Boy, that would give me some severe case of Victory Hair.

Wait, what? You don’t know what Victory Hair is? Victory Hair my dear sweet sheltered darlings is hair that you’ve worked all night for! Hair that, while starting off looking very well put together in the latest style and flipped with a careless hand in order to flirt with that dashing young man (er, *coughwizardcough*) later … get’s pretty messy. It is hair that looks great when you get to dinner, get to flirting, get to his house and then … get your swerve on. That – THAT – is VICTORY HAIR! It’s the hair that gets you … some. It can be curly, straight, wavy, blonde, brown, black, red or even purple – it doesn’t matter. All that matters is you are hot and you know it.

My son … he’s three years old and he’s into playing race car games on the Playstation and the Game Cube (no, we don’t have a Wii … yet lol). But, my gosh - he’s awful … Which is a good thing I guess since it shows that he doesn’t play very often (he has days where he’s into it more than others). Today he played GTA Vice City (good job Daddy) and right now he’s playing Mater-National. He’s got such ROAD RAGE!! Eeek!! I think I can only handle about 10 more minutes of him getting frustrated and yelling at the various cars on the screen.

We’ve got good (read: educational) games for him also … It’s not all road rage, lol …

Daddy’s leaving for a business trip soon - so I’m sure he will spend way too much time planted in front of the television due to his Mama (er, ME) being sick as a dog pregnant. I’m not getting any work done lately … There are a couple blog jobs looming, some reviews due and some links to be processed, AND there is also a website/shop to be finished. I will get it all done on time - but just on time.

On another note: I wonder if it’s safe to put a set of basement dehumidifiers in the garage. My garage is getting HOT as the temperature is rising here. There is no window, so it’s awful to do laundry right now.

… and I’m totally okay with it! LOL! I’ve been playing Sims 2 for a few years now, before that Sims 1 … so I’m thoroughly addicted by now. In fact, I’ve been bored with the game - so I’ve begun doing “legacies” and “challenges” to add to the fun of my game (and all the expansion packs). I’ve joined a few message boards (and plan on actually participating in one) and I’ve downloaded a ton of “CC” (Custom Content) from cool clothes to new eyes to a gold bangle for my Simmies! I’m currently working on a couple things including an Apocalypse Challenge (I’m on my fourth founder) and I’m also doing a crazy Harry Potter legacy beginning with rebuilding the entire family tree of several founders.

Yeah, geek …. heh!

I’m so, so happy that hubby upgraded the memory on my laptop! I moved my Sims2 game onto it (along with all expansions including the new Free Time pack) and have been playing them with no issues for a couple weeks now! I’ve also been downloading new Sims2 content like crazy lately, lol … It’s almost as much fun to download as it is to play the game!

I have a few legacy families (multi-generation) in my game. Yeah, I know I’m a huge dork! I have a family that’s on it’s 4th generation (the VanCamp’s) and I am also working on two “Harry Potter” related legacy families (Slytherin and Ravenclaw). I’m having a good time with it I like to ignore my “real life” occasionally!
