Dan Brown - The Lost Symbol According to Amazon.com - The Da Vinci Code sold 80 million copies in 51 languages. The books author, Dan Brown, is about to release his newest novel: The Lost Symbol. The book is supposed to be set in Washington, DC and that the symbols, secret rituals and rich history of the Freemasonry movement are involved. All rumors aside - the character Robert Langdon is back and leading the action!

You can pre-order your very own copy of The Lost Symbol off of Amazon.com and they will deliver it to you on the very day it comes out - September 15th (which also happens to be MY BIRTHDAY!). The book is also available for pre-order on the Kindle!

Oh and while you have the Kindle on your mind - why not check out what I had to say about it on my other blog - geared towards Military members and their families!

I really enjoyed “The Da Vinci Code” as well as “Angels and Demons” … I look forward to this new book!

The book Twitter Revolution gives the reader the knowledge and ability to participate in the “new media” known as twitter. Twitter is a fast paced method of communicating and interacting with those you follow and who follow you. It shows you how you can step right into the twitter world and interact and learn from those you are following and who follow you.

Early in the book we learn why we should even give a darn about twitter. And than we get a clear and concise explanation of what twitter is. And that is not an easy task. Best of all, the Twitter Revolution is true to form and says exactly what twitter is, “it turned into SO much more than that.” What is really cool about this chapter as with a lot of the book, Deb and Warren take advantage of their own followers to aid in defining what twitter is. So instead of just getting a book full of the ideas and thinking of the writers alone, we get the input of some of the thought leaders who are actually using what the book is talking about.

I’ve been forming a book list this week of possible reads and books that I’d like to write up reviews for. As some of you know I recently read the Harry Potter series and LOVED it; I also recently read “Baby Laughs” by Jenny McCarthy [hilarious!!], “Dark at the Roots: A Memoir” by Sarah Thyre [eh .. dark humor] and off and on I’ve been reading books geared towards military wives.

Books I’ve recently purchased include “The Creative Family” by Amanda Blake Soule and a weekend craft book (yay!)

A book that looks interesting is The Appeal by John Grisham (his newest one!).

My friend Valerie loaned me the book “Help! I’m a Military Spouse: I Get a Life Too!” to read. She’s good about making me read “Navy Wife Lit” lol … I’m reading it now because it’s not a novel, it’s more like a life manual. It helps you set your goals and create a life that is about you, not your husband’s career and not your kids. It’s working nicely. In fact, I started “working” more once I started reading it because it helped me figure out a timeline and realize that it’s (meaning a LIFE) isn’t going to come in a day. I have to give the book back to Valerie before I PCS though, lol … I think this will be one that I purchase. It’s a really good book!
