Out in the Open

No comment - Post a comment

I’m going on the path set before me by “Blogging Away Debt” and I’m going to really CONCENTRATE on paying off our bills. Seriously guys - this is it! I’m tired of owing money! I’m going to kick “it” into overdrive and get going on all the different money making projects I’ve been working on. AND - I’m going to disclose how much I make with them AND I’m going to disclose how much debt we’re in so you can watch me pay it OFF!

This is scary. Mom’s going to kick my ass because I was doing really well in paying it all off - that is, until we had to move to Virginia and have 2 house payments for a month there. Don’t let that fool you though, we were in “debt” but not that badly before this move. Depression can do a lot for your checkbook/credit cards also since I tend to buy more when my husband is gone. “Retail Therapy” it’s called. Anyway. Done. Kaput!

Here we go!

On a side note: moving sucks! It’s draining on your resources and it’s a pain emotionally. I moved to Virginia, so I didn’t need any New York movers to move me - just Jacksonville ones. Lucky for me nothing went missing. A good hint if you are a military family though? GET RID OF STUFF!!!!! Why keep moving it every 3 or so years? I’m going list my extra crap on EBay!

WAHM Updates

No comment - Post a comment

I’m still really not any further in the planning of my home business than I was a week ago. I am so, so lazy! Not to mention so, so busy with “life” (and the cleaning & organizing of my HOUSE) that the only money making / work at home stuff I’ve been able to pull off has been the paid blogging and linking that I’ve been doing.

Speaking of which, I need to find a word count plugin for Wordpress so I don’t have to type up the blog posts that pay me for a mention that require a word count.

It pays the bills baby - it pays the bills. Not to mention that I could afford family insurance if I didn’t have it through the Navy. ;)

So, yeah, I need to get my butt moving … I have a million things to do and zero energy to do them. I need a Barista in my kitchen to deliver a mocha-caramel latte at 7 am!

In My Zone

No comment - Post a comment

When I am working on “net” projects (making “net” on the ‘net? hee hee!) I get into a ZONE where you practically have to have a captioning on your face so when you talk I actually understand what you are saying. Are other people like this? I have a few different blogs and a online design company that I am trying to reboot AND I’m trying to sew up some bags and other handmade goodies so I can finally begin to sell them online so I am always on this laptop lately! Sure I still pay attention to my son and my dog and my cat and oh yeah, my husband … but I have tons of work to do online!

I think they understand … I bring in some money doing this at least … Right? ;)

kirsten dunst rehab

Are all the celebrities behaving lately or something? I mean, Britney’s father Jamie has almost got her reined in. Lindsay is not in the “news” lately, Paris is happy-dating Benji Madden so she is “behaving” … BOR-ING!

Apparently, Kirsten Dunst is in rehab for being a drunk (not a drug treatment program or anything at least, right?) But, she’s really boring and doesn’t do anything - so I don’t much care. Good for her for getting help though! (*slugs a drink from a Mudslide*)

I wonder what ever happened to Paris’ brother, Baron who got in trouble for DUI?

Yawn!

The new PayPerPost Boards (or now known as all-encompassing “Izea Boards”) is live and raring to be “chatted” at with some obvious changes most likely brought on by the recent Izea customer survey. The slated changes that were to be made to the board were announced in the Izea blog back on the 29th of February. Some changes included adding in more Izea features including SocialSpark, Bloggers Choice Awards, RockStartUp and of course, PayPerPost. The other glaring change was that of the current moderator status - a good majority of the current mods were supposed to be removed (and set to “moderator alumni”) and those left would be “trained” on how to moderate the boards.

There were a lot of issues with the moderator “staff” that caused another board, Posties.us, to be opened by Robert MacEwan (of macewan.org) in hopes that the “posties” (the term that affectionately represents the bloggers at PayPerPost) could speak more freely with less fear of their threads being locked down by overzealous (and rumored non-welcoming) moderators.

There may be some tweaks left for the board to go through, but I was able to log right in with my old login/password. I noticed right away how much more “organized” the boards were, although they will most likely take a little getting used to. One thing that was obvious, as mentioned before, was that of the greatly reduced moderators - including the rumored “unwelcoming” mod. (Who, for the record - I never thought was “unwelcoming” just had a dry sense of humor which I could appreciate.) Gone now is the “Circle of Trust” status - replaced with a nicer and less daunting “Rockstar” status. Also, the Izea Team Members and Mods are obviously noted.

I only wonder now if they have enough Mods. Will there be more added? Will they be “trained” as mentioned by Ted Murphy (the CEO of the Izea company for those who live under a proverbial rock)? Only time will tell I guess!

Working OUT

No comment - Post a comment

When I was still living in Jacksonville I had a gym membership. I MISS that gym membership! I’ve gained at least 20 lbs in the past 4 months since I don’t take the time to work out and watch my eating habits. I can’t afford a membership right now, and I haven’t taken the time to find a babysitter for Xander during the times I want to work out. I should really look into that.

I found the Arc Trainer that I used to use at my gym. I loved working out on that thing - it kicked my butt way more than the Precor elliptical machine! I miss taking the classes also - they had this cool combo class that consisted of Yoga & Tae Chi. NICE workout - but tough for those of us who don’t have the best balance in the world!

I need to (literally) get off my butt, walk AWAY from the laptop, and work OUT!

My Own Office

No comment - Post a comment

I’m trying to re-setup my home office and get organized so that I have a place to sit down and get work done. I love sitting on the couch with my laptop, but my wee little Mac mini needs a permanent home instead of being secondarily hooked up to hubby’s monitor on his desk.

I love having my own space. I’ve been working on the guest room in our house to serve as my studio for my crafts and scrapbooking but also a place to have my Mac and my graphics tablet. Moving every couple years means having to set up and re set up your rooms. It sucks sometimes - but it’s life for me. Gotta love the military!

So, anyway. I’ve been reading Blueprint magazine and they have some awesome ideas for decorating and home offices. I just love their styles - a little retro, a little shabby but organized and chic. I love all that stuff. Oh, and I love cool supplies like magazine holders, name stamps, memory boards and cheap pens. Everything that makes it fun and easy to get work done.

I’m really lazy about visiting sites while logged into my Christineisms account so I’ve pulled the widget from the blog. I’m not sure, however, how to actually close the account. Has anyone closed an Entrecard account before?

I use Entrecard on my Starryskye blog with great results. I’ve doubled my visitors and found a lot of great blogs to visit. I just hate doing all that I do with Starryskye on Entrecard for Christineisms also. I guess I am just lazy. There’s obviously no EASY way to bring traffic to your website or blog.

I think I’ve just had BLOGS and visiting them on my brain for too long now. Time to look up some luxury vacations and get the heck outta here!
