Money Updates

No comment - Post a comment

I know it shouldn’t make me feel “better” - but its really nice to know that people we thought “had it all together” … don’t. I mean, well - that sounds awful - I mean, we’re in the same boat and that just because you make more money, you don’t always have “no debt” you know? The old, “the more you make the more you spend” perhaps?

I am waiting to hear back from my bank to see if the credit card credit limit has been made higher. I want to do another balance transfer and get a super low interest rate. It’s easier to pay off then really. I am also trying to decide which of our main credit cards to keep.

Ugh, I am in need of some serious credit card debt relief before I go completely insane. But, I have to say - it’s fun playing “balance roulette” lol ….

Trip Planning

No comment - Post a comment

I’ve got some trip planning to plan! Hubby’s 10 year high school reunion is coming up in July I think, so we will be heading “home” to Florida then. I’m trying to figure out if we will be driving straight through (it’s 10 hours to Jacksonville and then 3 1/2 more hours to “Home” - so - 13 1/2 hours total.) I mention Jacksonville because I’d really like to stop in and hang out with the old friends for a bit. But, we could always do that as a side trip and spend the night up there after we drop the dog off.

But, what about a mid-way point? I’m not talking about checking out the Hilton Head rentals (although, that would be nice) - just a “I don’t feel like being in the car for 14 hours lets stop” type thing.

I will be making the trip again without hubby in September also. I will DEFINETLY need to stop overnight at some point then.

Fat Pants

No comment - Post a comment

My “fat pants” no longer fit me. My self esteem is hitting rock bottom and I’m getting pissed! I’m tired of being fat and I’m going to do something about it. I need to start hitting the elliptical at the gym. I feel like if I’m not paying for the membership I’m not getting off my duff. So, I need to rearrange some funds and just get the membership. My butt will thank me.

I eat when I am bored and stressed. I also love wine and those little bottle Mojito drinks which aren’t very good for the butt either. I don’t really plan on cutting back too much on that, the food yes, but until I have a REASON why I can’t drink at all anymore (ie. I get pregnant) then until I have that reason (ie. I get pregnant) then I’m not going to completely stop. I’m no lush, but I do “imbibe” every so often. The food? I don’t eat complete crappola, but there is a serious lack of fresh fruits and veggies in the house right now.

So, add that to my “things to do” …

I’ve been checking out selling arena’s for a couple home businesses I’m working on. Well, it’s mostly ONE home biz - selling stuff online. But, there are a few items I’d be selling. A homemade items section (crafted items I make, and also items my two friends make) and also random things I’ve picked up along the years that I just need to unload (like, a virtual garage sale).

There are a few avenues to sell items - there’s Etsy for anything homemade, Big Cartel for just about anything, eBay (either plain auctions or an “eBay Store” or even Amazon or Half.com for other used or new items. They each have their own fees associated with them and I’m trying to find out what the pros and cons of each place and what each place’s fees are.

So what do you use? What do you sell? Handmade items? Maybe equestrian clothing? Merch for bands? Give me the downlow here on what you utilize to make your home biz run smoothly.

I’m really trying to figure out how to build traffic on my other blog (Starryskye). I’ve done (and am still doing) the Entrecard thing, but not as much as I used to because it just takes awhile and I’ve been working on 100 other things lately. I still try and visit at least my favs and my drops box each day - but, I’m not getting the turnaround that I was once getting.

I’m thinking of running a couple contests. Maybe a candle gift pack with some bath stuff for one and maybe some homemade wine charms and a couple nice glasses or something for another? I say wine charms because I’ve been making some lately, lol. Oh, another one that could be cool is hair bows - my friend Chrissy is beginning her home business making extremely cute hair bows, I could pick up a couple and do a giveaway to not only bring some readers back to my blog, and also maybe bring some attention to her website (which hasn’t been created yet, lol … I’m BUILDING it still!)

What are some ideas? Contest ideas? Traffic building ideas? Etc.? I’m not asking for medicare insurance here. I just need blog ideas!

I swear, when we were little we never had to sign a waiver before we did something. Now? Now you sign a waiver before you jump in bounce houses or ride ponies (two recent examples). It’s so … well, it’s necessary I guess in our “sue happy” society - but, still, it’s weird for a girl who grew up in the “Go Play Outside” generation in the 1980’s you know?

My son sure looked cute riding the small pony today during our commands Easter picnic though! Even though we practically had to sign our life away and get some extra life insurance quotes in order to ride the damn thing! LOL!

Sims2

No comment - Post a comment

I’m so, so happy that hubby upgraded the memory on my laptop! I moved my Sims2 game onto it (along with all expansions including the new Free Time pack) and have been playing them with no issues for a couple weeks now! I’ve also been downloading new Sims2 content like crazy lately, lol … It’s almost as much fun to download as it is to play the game!

I have a few legacy families (multi-generation) in my game. Yeah, I know I’m a huge dork! I have a family that’s on it’s 4th generation (the VanCamp’s) and I am also working on two “Harry Potter” related legacy families (Slytherin and Ravenclaw). I’m having a good time with it ;) I like to ignore my “real life” occasionally!

Payday Baby!

No comment - Post a comment

Today was nice all around … BECAUSE … today was payday! Not only did we get paid for hubby’s job, I got my payment for a banner that rotates on my main blog, a payment from a company I blog for and I also got paid for a few links that I had placed up there.

Heh … maybe next time I can by a used Rolex instead of a fake Rolex! woot! (Lol!)

I worked on my newest blog today - it’s coming along nicely and I hope to get it out in the open soon. I was also talking to a friend about listing things on eBay for her. I’ve had a few friends ask for help in doing that so that’s just another part of my “Big Plan” in paying off things. I’m all about the entrepreneurship y’know

Thanks to the BDMM community and their opportunity to place some links on my other blog - I’ve got the money to pay off 1/2 the stupid trucks brakes. THANK YOU for that opportunity ladies!

The Breakdown

1 comment - Post a comment

I was blogging yesterday about disclosing how much I’d like to pay off on our credit cards and such - so today is that day. Add to all this the fact that our brakes on our 2002 Tracker went the other day - so now we can add around $600 to all the debt (for things that are SUPPOSED to be covered by the warranty - yes, we’ve already spoke to “legal” at the base hubby works at).

Credit Cards:
Visa - Alan $4,717.98
Visa - Choice Priv. $5,592.00
Discover Card $4,547.97
Sams Club/WalMart $774.09
Children’s Place $71.93
Old Navy/GAP $51.65
Star Card $408.83
TOTAL = $16,164.45

Other:
Consolidation Loan $7,519.03
Vehicle Loan $29,224.02
TOTAL = $16,164.45

TOTAL PAYOFF-ABLE AMOUNT = $52,907.50

Housing:
House in Jacksonville - $1300
House in Virginia - $1245

The house in Jacksonville is currently rented out for $1100 per month - after management company takes share we get about $985. So, we’re paying about $400 out of pocket each month. Because of the housing market we cannot offload it yet. Yes, it was DUMB to buy the house - I blame my husband.

Right now, I want to work on the $16,164.45 from the credit cards. I will blog about my”plan of attack” when I figure it out in words, lol. I think after all this I might need drug rehabilitation from all the “Happy Pills” I will have taken to stay on course and not crying in a corner of my house. We’re in some serious debt - I know it! I have to stay positive because I know I can pay it off. Most of it was accrued over the past 1 year (or less). The buying of the new car did a number on our budget, plus the move and the two houses. It WILL be paid off!!
